It was a lot of fun and happy moments discussing the requirements and details, designing and planning the piece, and matching the fabrics, webbings and strings etc. Appreciate the trust and freedom to design and create! 😊
Blue was Handsome Friend’s favourite colour hence we have chosen denim as one of two fabrics used. It wasn’t an obvious choice since most denims are not easy to work with for drawstring related items due to their hard structure. However, the denim we featured yesterday was perfect for this project! It allows the bag to be pulled nicely without too much difficulty when closing it.
But The Son wasn’t satisfied with just making a plain denim bag. He decided to add 2 front pockets using our iconic Japanese inspired waves from the “Three Brothers” series to give the bag a little bit of contrast and to “Japan-ise” it. And if that wasn’t enough, he made the entire bag reversible! The exact same fabrics, the exact same design but in reverse.
